Lot A of Transmission Auction 05/2012, conducted by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) on Wednesday (6/6) was acquired by Consortium BAL (Eletrosul Centrais Elétricas e Companhia Estadual de Geração e Transmissão de Energia Elétrica). The company submitted a bid at the amount of R$77,417,970.00 and, therefore, had no discount in relation to the Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP) established by the Agency. The RAP is the revenue to which the enterprise is entitled for the provision of transmission services as from the entry into commercial operation of the facilities.
Lot A is composed of the transmission lines Povo Novo – Nova Santa Rita, Povo Novo – Marmeleiro, Povo Novo – Marmeleiro, Marmeleiro – Santa Vitória do Palmar, by a synchronous compensator and substation Santa Vitória do Palmar, all located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The transmission lines of 525 kilovolts (kV) Santa Vitória do Palmar – Marmeleiro – Povo Novo were planned to flow the energy produced by wind farms of the southern Rio Grande do Sul, which will be connected to the substations and Santa Vitória do Palmar and Marmeleiro. Since the Transmission Line 138kV Quinta – Marmeleiro will be deactivated, the 525/138kV processing of Substation Santa Vitória do Palmar will meet the loads of the region. The synchronous compensator of Substation Marmeleiro will help in the quality of the energy in the region and will avoid cuts in the event of system disturbances. Transmission Line Novo Povo – Nova Santa Rita, in turn, was planned to enhance services to the southern state in the long term. However, with the sale of wind power plants in the region, the need was anticipated for the same date of the plants. Substation Povo Novo will reinforce service to the regions of Pelotas and Rio Grande and will allow for the connection of future thermal plants planned for the region.
