The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) promotes next Thursday (06/14) a public hearing in Belém (PA) to present the proposal to the preliminary index of the third periodic rate revision of Centrais Elétricas do Pará S/A (CELPA .)

The onsite session will be held at 1:30PM in the Professor José Vicente Miranda Filho Auditorium, located in the building of the Institute of Legal Sciences of the Universidade Federal do Pará, established at Rua Augusto Corrêa, in the Guamá neighborhood, in Belém.

The hearing, conducted by the Agency Director, André Pepitone da Nobrega, aims to gather contributions of consumers and representatives of public and private institutions of consumer protection agencies, neighborhood associations and other civil society groups for the revision process of the concessionaire.

ANEEL's proposal to revise Celpa predicts a 6.7% average increase in rates for consumers served by the concessionaire. The distributor provides electricity to 1.8 million consumer units located in 143 municipalities of Pará.

The rate revision is foreseen in the concession contracts in order to get the balance of rates based on the remuneration of investment companies focused on the provision of distribution services and coverage of expenses actually recognized by ANEEL. It is applied to the distribution companies every four years on average.
