The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL) promotes next Thursday (06/21) a public hearing in Xanxerê (SC) to present the proposal with the preliminary index of the third tariff review for the company Iguaçu Distribuidora de Energia elétrica Ltda (IENERGIA).

The on-site session will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina (UNOESC), located at Rua Dirceu Giordani, number 696, Tarumã neighborhood.

The hearing has the objective of collecting contributions of consumer and representatives from public and private institutions, consumer defense organs, resident associations and other segments of civil society for the dealership’s review process.

ANEEL’s proposal for IENERGIA’s review forecasts an average reduction of -1%in the tarrifs for consumers served by the dealership. The distribution company supplies electricity for 30 thousand consumer units in the city of Xanxerê (SC).

The tariff review is foreseen in the concession contracts with the objective of obtaining balance of the tariffs based on the remuneration of the investments of the companies aimed towards the providing of services of distribution and the coverage of expenses effectively acknowledged by ANEEL. It is applied to the distribution dealerships every four years, on average.(DB/PG)
