Agency approves Tariff Readjustment for Cooperativa CERTEL

Fonte: ANEEL
Cooperativa Regional de Eletrificação Teutônia’s (CERTEL) consumers will have their electricity tariff readjusted starting June 26. The indexes were approved today (06/19) during the public meeting of the Executive Board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL). The Co-op serves 47 cities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The average effect to be perceived by the co-op’s captive consumers will be 11.19%.

Upon calculating the readjustment index, the Agency considers the cost variation that the company had throughout the reference period. The calculation formula includes the typical distribution activity costs, on which is related the IGP-M and the Factor X*, and other costs that do not necessarily accompany the inflationary index, such as energy bought from generators, transmission charges and industry charges.

The application of the annual readjustment and of the tariff review are foreseen in the permission contracts signed between the co-ops and the Federal Government, through ANEEL. The indexes homologated by the Agency are the limits to be practiced by the co-ops. * Factor X – Percentage to be subtracted from the Inflation Variation Indicator – IVI, as to the execution of the annual tariff readjustments between periodic reviews, in view of sharing with the consumers the productivity gains estimated for the period.
