The population of Colatina (ES) is invited to participate in the physical presence session to be held by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) this Thursday (6/28) with the objective of presenting the proposal with the preliminary index for Empresa Luz e Força Santa Maria S.A’s (ELFSM) third periodic tariff review.

ANEEL’s proposal for ELSFM’s review projects an average increase of 0.89% for the tariffs of consumers served by the utility.The distributor supplies electricity to 92,516 consumer units in municipalities in the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo.

The physical presence session will be held at 8 am in the Colatina Municipal Chamber (Praça Municipal, 32). The tariff reviews promoted by ANEEL are preceded by public hearings in which the agency tries to hear society and receive contributions from sector agents and stakeholders in the process.Besides participating in the face-to-face session this Thursday, stakeholders may send contributions by 6/29 to: ap039_2012rv@aneel.gov.br. After the contributions period has ended, the matter will be deliberated in a Board meeting that will decide the final index to be practiced by the distributor starting 8/15/2011.

The tariff review is projected in the contracts and the objective is to obtain economic-financial equilibrium in the concession.It is applied to distribution utilities every four years, on average.The Agency provides the spot (audio), with an invitation for the population to participate in the physical presence session of the public hearing in Colatina.  See here.
