Fonte: ANEELOn Tuesday (October 2nd) the Board of the National Agency of Electric Energy (ANEEL) consented on the pledge of Centrais Elétricas do Pará (CELPA) regarding a new trajectory for non-technical losses (power theft) for its third periodic tariff revision. With the decision of the Agency, the trajectory which in 2011 and 2012 was 41.54% was reduced to 37.78% in 2013 and to 34% in 2014.
The reduction of the loss trajectory was one of the requests presented in the Transition Plan of company Equatorial Energia S / A to acquire control of CELPA. The concessionaire was purchased in September by Equatorial for a symbolic amount of $ 1.00, with the purpose of reversing the economic and financial situation of the company.
Non-technical losses cause impacts to society as they result in higher costs for use of energy, lower number of consumer units and the payment of fewer taxes due to the reduction of energy billed. Read more about losses here. (PG / DB)
