The public hearing No. 84/2012 aiming to improve the criteria for calculating the accurate physical guarantee of hydroelectric and inflexible thermoelectric plant with null Variable Cost per Unit (VCU)* started today (October 11th ). The hearing was approved during the last public meeting of the board of ANEEL held on Tuesday (October 9th ).

* Variable Cost per Unit – Value expressed in Brazilian Reais per megawatt-hour (£ / MWh) as calculated by EPE (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética ) based on parameters reported by the bidder before the auction, limited to fifty percent of the maximum value of Difference Settlement Price (Preço de Liquidação de Diferenças – PLD) as established in Ordinance No. 043, of March 1, 2007. The value serves as a basis for definition of the physical guarantee, the expected values of Operating Cost and the Short-Term Economic Cost, necessary to cover all operating costs of the project, except those already covered by fixed revenue.
