The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica -ANEEL) decided today (10/23), during the Public Meeting, to forward to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) the claims for extension filed by holders of nine transmission concessions.
The nine transmitters expressed to ANEEL interest in extending the contract by 10/15 and also presented documentary proof of tax, labor and industry compliance, and of the legal, economic, financial and technical qualification. Since the general conditions of the claim for extension were fulfilled, ANEEL forwarded the requests to the MME so that the agency may decide for or against the continuity of contracts.
The measure taken by the Agency is foreseen in Provisionary Measure # 579/2012 and in Decree # 7.805/2012. The next step, which appears in the work schedule for tariff reduction, is the approval of the minutes of Addenda to Generation and TransmissionConcession, which is scheduled for 11/01. Below is the list of nine transmitters who had their claims for extension forwarded to the MME. (PG/DB)
