The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica -ANEEL) approved, this past Tuesday (10/23), the opening of public hearing # 088/2012 to discuss the review of the criteria for determination of the limits of specific consumption of fuels per generating central for reimbursement by the Fuel Consumption Account(Conta de Consumo Combustíveis – CCC) contained in Normative Resolution # 427/2011.
This resolution establishes the procedures for planning, training, processing and management of CCC, as well as the total cost of generation in isolated systems that account for reimbursement, formed by installments of the concessionaires’ own generation, by hiring energy and by the cost of fuel. In the case of specific consumption of fuels, the rule limits the reimbursement to the lower value of the provisions in the contract and the average for the previous year.
The purpose of the hearing is to review the criteria for determination of specific consumption of fuel provided in the standard, which limits the amount determined by the average of the previous year, to cover situations of variation in the calorific power of the fuel and natural degradation of heat engines, for which suggests ANEEL tolerance of 5%.
