The company supplies electric power to 197.4 thousand consumer units in 24 townships in <st1:City w:st='on'><st1:place w:st='on'>S\u00e3o Paulo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing began at 8 am at the <st1:place w:st='on'><st1:PlaceName w:st='on'>Toledo<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st='on'>College<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> &#8211; Dr. Jos\u00e9 Cupertino D\u00b4Arce amphitheater, located at Pra\u00e7a Raul Furquim, 09, Vila Furquim. Forty people participated in the meeting, including individual consumers, representatives of public and private institutions, unions and the distributor&#8217;s Consumer Council. The objective of the hearing was to gather contributions from society regarding Caiu\u00e1&#8217;s revision process.<\/p>\n<p>Aneel&#8217;s proposal projects an average <b>reduction<\/b>&#160;of <b>9.47%<\/b>&#160;(-9.47%) for the concessionaire&#8217;s tariffs. The documents with the concessionaire&#8217;s revision proposal have been available at <a href='http:\/\/www.aneel.gov.br\/aplicacoes\/audiencia\/dspListaDetalhe.cfm?attAnoAud=2008&amp;attIdeFasAud=283&amp;id_area=13&amp;attAnoFasAud=2008'><b><u>A Aneel\/ Audi\u00eancias\/Consultas\/F\u00f3rum<\/u><\/b><\/a>, on the Agency&#8217;s home page (<a href='http:\/\/www.aneel.gov.br\/'><b><u>www.aneel.gov.br<\/u><\/b><\/a>) since last March 6. After analysis of the contributions sent in writing and gathered during the hearing, Aneel will define Caiu\u00e1&#8217;s final index, which will go into effect next May 10.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, 36 companies shall undergo the periodic tariff revision process. In 2007, seven distribution concessionaires underwent the revision: Coelce (CE), Eletropaulo (SP), Escelsa (ES), Celpa (PA) and Elektro (SP), Bandeirante (SP) and CPFL Piratininga (SP).
