The Special Commission for Bidding of the Brazilian Electric Power Agency (Aneel) published today (May 14), through Relevant Notification n\u00ba 4, the list of companies that have provided guarantees to Jirau Hydroelectric Power Plant auction. The two participants (Cons\u00f3rcio Jirau Energia and Cons\u00f3rcio Energia Sustent\u00e1vel do Brasil – CESB) have made the deposit and have taken their passwords for the auction system access. For them, the guarantees correspond to 1% of the investment amount. These parameters are defined on page 15 of the invitation to bid.<\/p>\n

Odebrecht Investimentos em Infra-estrutura Ltda.<\/st1:PersonName> (17.6%);<\/p>\n

Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S\/A (1%);<\/p>\n

Andrade Gutierrez Participa\u00e7\u00f5es S\/A (12.4%);<\/p>\n

Cemig Gera\u00e7\u00e3o e Transmiss\u00e3o S\/A (10%);<\/p>\n

Furnas Centrais El\u00e9tricas S\/A (39%) and<\/p>\n

Fundo de Investimentos e Participa\u00e7\u00f5es Amaz\u00f4nia Energia (FIP – composed of Banif and Santander Banks) (20%).<\/p>\n

2) CONS\u00d3RCIO ENERGIA SUSTENT\u00c1VEL DO BRASIL<\/p>\n

Suez Energy South Am\u00e9rica Participa\u00e7\u00f5es Ltda. (50.1%);<\/p>\n

Camargo Correa Investimentos em Infra-estrutura S<\/st1:PersonName>\/A (9.9%);<\/p>\n

Eletrosul Centrais El\u00e9tricas S\/A (20%) and<\/p>\n

Companhia Hidro El\u00e9trica do S\u00e3o Francisco – Chesf (20%).<\/p>\n

Power Distribution Companies –<\/b> 31 power distribution concessionaires, purchasers at the auction, have provided their guarantees and are qualified to purchase power from Jirau Hydroelectric Power Plant auction. See the complete list here<\/u><\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Auction Training<\/b> – On Thursday (May 15), the two participants will be trained on the auction system and will participate in a simulation with fictitious data, in order to be prepared to make the auction call.<\/p>\n

Auction<\/b> – The auction will be promoted by Aneel and the C\u00e2mara de Comercializa\u00e7\u00e3o de Energia El\u00e9trica (CCEE) will be in charge of the auction operationalization, under Aneel’s delegation. The guidelines approved by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) are presented on decree n\u00ba 36\/2008. Jirau Hydroelectric Power Plant will offer the installed capacity of 3,300 megawatts. The project may start to generate power in January 2013, when the three first generation units may be started. The project includes the installation of 44 turbines and the reservoir area will correspond to 258 kilometers<\/st1:metricconverter> square. The deadline, from the concession contract signature to the final project implementation, is 90 months, or 7.5 years. The total project value, estimated by the Empresa de Pesquisa Energ\u00e9tica (EPE) for the construction of Jirau Hydroelectric Power Plant, is R$ 8,7 billion, with October 2007 as reference.<\/p>\n
