\nThe Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) authorized last Tuesday (1\/17), during a public meeting of the Board, the transfer of the controlling interest of 15 companies, according to the table below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\nThe Agency also determined that the recipient companies of the controlling interest should send to ANEEL’s Economic and Financial Supervision Superintendence a certified copy of the documents supporting formalization of the operation, within 30 days following the effective date.<\/p>\n

In the case of transfer of control of Bioenergia Geração e Comercialização de Energia do Nordeste Ltda. (BEN), given the information that the company is a defaulter at the Electricity Commercialization Chamber (CCEE), approval of the transfer is subject to payment of the discharged debt by Brasilterm Energia S\/A. Brasilterm is also subject to penalties for failing to request prior approval of its operation by ANEEL.<\/p>\n
