The Board of ANEEL (the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency) has approved today (April 30), in a Public Meeting, the allocation of quotas of energy and power guarantee to Três Irmãos, Neblina and Sinceridade Hydroelectric Plants, today under the responsibility of Companhia Energética de São Paulo (CESP) and Furnas Centrais Elétricas S.A (FURNAS), respectively.

Directives 124 and 125, of April 17, 2013, issued by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, have established that the two companies are temporarily in charge of the plants until a new bid is conducted to contract definitive concessionaires. The measure was necessary because CESP, CEMIG and Brooksfield did not accept to renew the concession contracts of their plants in December 2012. The concessions of Neblina plant, of 6.4 MW, and Sinceridade, of 1.4 MW, expired in 2008, and the concession of Três Irmãos plant, of 807 MW, expired in 2011.

As the directives that designated FURNAS and CESP are from April, the allocation was made proportionally to the remaining days of the month. In May, the energy will be fully delivered following the quota system. See the values here. (PG/DB)
