Edict of Auction Transmission 02/2013 comes into hearing

The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) approved today (05/07) the opening of the Public Hearing with the objective of collecting contributions for the Edict of Auction No. 02/2013 for the contracting og the public electricity transmission service in the states of Acre, Bahia, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and Rio Grande do Sul, besides the Distrito Federal. In all, nine lots will be auctioned, lot A in Acre, lot B (GO and DF), lot C (BA), lot D (RS), lot E (PI), lot F (RN), lot G (MS), lot H (MA), lot I (RS). See the description below.

The expectation is that the auction will be held still the first semester, since the second semester there is the forecast of at least two auctions, one being the connection in direct current of the Belo Monte Power Plant. Facilities shall come into operation within 24 to 36 months of signing the contract. The winning concessionaire will be entitled to receive the *Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP – Receita Annual Permitida) for the service providing, to be received starting with commercial operation.

The facilities that compose the edict are contemplated in the document “Consolidation of Basic Network – period of 2012 to 2014”, elaborated under the guidance of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. *Reference Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP) – Is the annual revenue that the transmitter will have right to for the public service rendering of transmission to the users, starting upon entering in commercial operation of the installations. Its value is obtained as a result of the auction, with annual updating by the Extensive Consumer Price Index (Índice de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo – IPCA) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística – IBGE) and reviewed every five years, in terms of the concession contract.
