The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) approved today (05/21), during the Public Meeting, the result of Public Hearing No. 51/2012, which discussed the procedures adopted, provisionally, in tariff review processes of concessionaires and until the publication of applicable methodologies.

Thus, it was decided by the Agency’s Board of Directors to the change in revenue resulting from the difference between the tariffs effectively applied in the duration of the tariff review and those defined in the homologation of the definite results will be weighed and considered as financial component in the following tariff readjustments. For distribution companies, it was established that the financial component will be fully considered in the respective tariff cycle. And for the distribution licensees, it was proposed that the period of consideration will be extended, if necessary. The use of the Selic was also established to pay the balance of the deferral of the financial component.

The Board of Directors also approved the second phase of Hearing No. 51/2012 to specifically discuss the discount application mechanism in the Distribution Systems Use Tariff (Tarifa de Uso dos Sistemas de Distribuição – TUSD) for the licensees.
