Public hearing on tariff revision of Cepisa (PI) approved

The period for submission of contributions to the public hearing that will discuss the tariff revision proposal of Eletrobras Distribuição Piauí (Cepisa) with society starts next Friday (5/31). The measure was approved today (5/28) by the Board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) during a Public Meeting. A live session will be held on 6/28 in the capital Teresina. The distributor serves 1 million consumer units located in 63 municipalities of Paraíba.
 
The figures submitted to the hearing by ANEEL consist of a preliminary average readjustment proposal of -6.81% in the bills of all residential customers (B1) of Cepisa. For industries, the proposal is an average reduction of -2.55%. The final indexes will only be known in August, when the matter will be deliberated by the Board of the Agency at an Ordinary Public Meeting. The tariff revision will be applied as of August 28.
 
Tariff revision is provided in the concession agreements and aims to obtain the balance of tariffs based on the return on investments of companies focused on the provision of distribution services and coverage of expenses actually recognized by ANEEL. The hearing will also discuss the quality of the service and limits of the continuity indicators *DEC and **FEC of sets of the distributor defined for the period 2014-2017.
