The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) authorized the release of generating units of power plants in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Bahia and Mato Grosso do Sul to start of commercial operation. In Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, , unit UG3 of the Hydropower Plant Simplício was released, owned by the company Furnas Centrais Elétricas S.A. The HPP is located in the municipalities of Sapucaia and Três Rios (RJ) and Chiador and Além Paraíba (MG).
In Bahia, generating units UG1 to UG6 of Wind Power Pedra do Reino III were released, located in the Municipality of Sobradinho, of the company Gestamp Eolicatec Sobradinho S.A. And in the municipality of Rio Brilhante (MS), generating unit UG3 was released, with 28,800 kW, of thermal electric plant Passa Tempo, owned by company Biosev S/A. All the plants have their commercial operation startup marked for June 07, 2013. The authorization was published in the Official Daily Government Newspaper today (06/07). (PG)
