The board of directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) approved a public hearing that will discuss with society the proposal of the tariff review for Celg Distribuição S/A (Celg). The measure was approved today (06/18) during the Board of Director’s meeting. On 07/12, there will be a live session of hearing in the capital Goiânia (GO). The concession company serves 2.5 million consumer units located in 237 municipalities in Góias.
The values submitted to the hearing by ANEEL consist of a preliminary proposal for a reduction of -3.78% (negative) on the bills of Celg’s residential consumers (B1). For industries, the proposal is for an average increase of 15.87%. The final rates will only be known in August, when the matter will be resolved by the Agency’s Board of Directors in an Ordinary Public Meeting. The tariff review will be applied starting September 12.
The tariff review is foreseen in the concession contracts and has the objective of obtaining the balance of the tariffs based on remuneration of the investment of the companies aimed at the distribution service providing and the coverage of expenses effectively acknowledged by ANEEL. The hearing will also discuss the quality of the service and the limits of the continuity indicators *DEC and **FEC of the Celg set stipulated for the period of 2014 to 2017.
