The National Agency of Electricity (ANEEL) will be holding next Friday (28/6) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in São Luís (MA), a live session of Public audience to discuss the 3rd Tariff Review by the Energy Company of Maranhão (Cemar). The meeting is open and will be presided by the Agency Chief officer, Romeo Donizete Rufino, in the Santa Teresina College, on Avenida Casimir Jr., 12, Anil.
The previous values submitted to the audience by ANEEL consist of a proposed reduction of 3.09% to residential consumers’ bills (B1) supported by Cemar. For industries, the proposal is for an average increase of 0.10%. The final rates will only be known in August, when the matter will be resolved by the agency board of directors, in an Ordinary Public Meeting. The revised rates will be applied from August 28th onwards.
Cemar serves 1.8 million customers in 217 counties of Maranhão.
The tariff review is foreseen in the concession contracts and aims to achieve the balance of rates, based on the profitability of companies, focused on the provision of distribution services and expense coverage, effectively acknowledged by ANEEL. The audience will also discuss the quality of service and the limits of the continuity indicators knows as *DEC e **FEC, from the sets established by Cemar for the period of 2014 to 2017.
