The live session of the public hearing to discuss the 3rd Tariff Review for Companhia Energética do Piauí (Cepisa) planned to be held tomorrow, Friday (06/28), from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Teresina (PI), was suspended. The dealership serves one million consumer units located in 63 cities in Piauí. Public hearing 052/2013, which handles the matter, receives documental contributions until 07/05.

The values submitted prior to the hearing by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) consist of a proposed reduction of -6.81% on the bill of residential consumers (B1) of Cepisa. For industries, the proposal is an average decrease of -2.55%. The final rates will only be known in August, when the matter will be resolved by the Agency’s Board of Directors in an Ordinary Public Meeting. The revised rates will apply starting August 28.

The tariff review is foreseen in the concession contracts and aims to get the balance of rates based on the remuneration of the investments of companies focused on the provision of distribution services and expense coverage effectively recognized by ANEEL.  The hearing will also discuss the service quality and the limits for the continuity indicators *DEC and **FEC of Cepisa’s sets stipulated for the period of 2014 to 2017.
