The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) approved the value of the initial Annual Generation Revenue (from the Portuguese, Receita Anual de Geração) – RAG – to be received by Furnas Centrais Elétricas S.A, responsible for the Hydropower Plants – HPPs – Dona Rita and São Domingos, which did not have their concessions renewed. The measure was taken during the Extraordinary Public Meeting this past Tuesday (06/25).
Besides the values of the Generation Assets Management (GAG – Gestão dos Ativos de Geração), already approved by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, added to the RAG calculated were the use and connection charges, the electricity service inspection fee (TFSEE – taxa de fiscalização dos serviços de energia elétrica) and the costs associated to the Research and Development (R&D) and Energetic Efficiency programs.
The plants Dona Rita (2,408 KW power) and São Domingos (12,000 KW power) belong respectively to Cemig Geração e Transmissão S.A and Companhia Energética de Goiás (CELG), but since they were not renewed they are temporarily under the responsibility of Furnas until a new concessionaire is chosen. See below the values approved for the period of June 7 to 30, 2013. (PG/DB)
