Agency defines the allocation of quotas of HPPs Dona Rita and São Domingos

The Board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved today (7/16), during the Public Meeting, the allocation of quotas for the guarantee physical of energy and power of Hydroelectric Plants Dona Rita and São Domingos, currently under the responsibility of Furnas Centrais Elétricas S.A (Furnas) until appointed a new dealer for the HPPs, as determined Ordinances Ministry of Energy and Mines Nos. 189 and 190.

The allocation is done by the Agency in proportion to the market each concessionaire and reviewed periodically. In June, there were proportional allocation, but starting in July to energy will be delivered in full in the quota system for these HPPs. The objectives of the quotas are: maintain unchanged the level of recruitment of distributors, privileging the proportional allocation to market the dealership and get a balanced reduction in retail tariffs, which is the essence of Provisional Measure No. 579/2012 on the reduction of tariffs. HPP Dona Rita (2,408 KW of power) belonged to Cemig Geração e Transmissão S.A and São Domingos (12,000 KW of power) to Companhia Energética de Goiás (Celg). Both companies did not renew the plants' concession contracts. (PG/DB)
