Accreditation rules for financial institutions approved in the CCEE

The Board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) partially closed Public Hearing 67/2013 and approved on Tuesday (7/23) the rules for accreditation of financial institutions in the Chamber of Electricity Trade (CCEE). For contributions over the operating limit, the deadline for contributions has been extended.

At least three financial institutions should be accredited by CCEE, which should publish the list of accredited institutions within 30 days after publication of the ANEEL Resolution.

In the case of the institution of an operating limit in the process of financial settlement of the short-term market, the directors agreed that the accreditation of financial institutions should precede regulation of the subject. For this reason, a new deadline was established for contributions, from 7/25 to 40 days following publication of the list of accredited financial institutions. An onsite meeting will also be held 20 days after disclosure of the list.

Those interested in contributing to the reopening of the hearing may submit suggestions to the e-mail address or ap067_2013_fase2@aneel.gov.br or to the Agency’s address (SGAN, Quadra 603, Módulo I, Térreo, Protocolo Geral, CEP: 70830-110, in Brasília – DF). (LP/DB)
