The first issue of the Revista de Eficiência Energética was released today (8/5), during the first day of the 7th Congress on Technological Innovation in Electricity (Citenel) and the 3rd Seminar on Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector (Seenel). The publication shows the achievements of the Energy Efficiency Program (EEP) and discusses perspectives and needs for improvement of policies related to the subject.
The first issue of the journal presents the results of projects developed within the Program and interviews with representatives of government, academia and industry associations. In the opening interview, Jamil Haddad, vice president of the Brazilian Energy Planning Association (SBPE) and coordinator of the Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (Excen) of the University of Itajubá (Unifei), examines Brazil’s public policies aimed at energy efficiency.
The issue discusses the need to integrate the energy efficiency policies of different government institutions such as the National Electricity Conservation Program (Procel), of Eletrobrás, and the Brazilian Labeling Program (PBE), of the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (Inmetro). Another article is devoted to presenting the successful examples of Germany, considered the world’s second most efficient country according to the rankings of the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).
