Agency approves Tariff Review for Cooperaliança (SC)

On Tuesday (8/6), during Public Meeting of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL), the final index of the third periodic tariff revision was approved for Cooperativa Aliança (Cooperaliança) , which serves 33,647 customers in Içara and part of the municipalities of Jaguaruna, Araranguá and Sangão (SC). The Agency approved a 15.42% average effect for consumers. At high voltage, the effect will be of 17.60% and at low voltage 13.76%. The cooperative is the only one that acts as power distribution utility. Also approved were the limits for *DEC and *FEC of the co-op for the period of 2014 to 2017.

The Periodic Tariff Review process is meant to examine, after a period predefined in the concession contract (usually four years), the economic and financial balance of the concession. The tariff revision for Cooperaliança was debated at a public hearing between 5/23 and 6/24 and featured a live session in the city of Içara on 6/21. (PG/DB)
