Fonte: ANEELThe Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) promotes next Thursday (8/29), at 10am, the 6th Energy Auction (A-5 *) for procurement of electricity from new generation projects from hydro and thermal sources (coal or natural gas combined cycle and biomass), with supply beginning on January 1, 2018. The auction will be via the Internet, with operationalization of Electricity Commercialization Chamber (CCEE), in São Paulo.
For this event, the initial price of energy Hydropower Plant (HPP) Sinop will be R $ 118/MWh, while the starting price of the other products to be offered will be R$140/MWh. In all, 37 projects were enabled, 16 biomass power plants, three coal-fired plants, one thermal natural gas, 15 small hydroelectric plants and two hydropower plants: Sinop and Salto Apiacás. The offer generation is concentrated in the following states: Bahia, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Pernambuco, Piaui, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
The Energy Contract Trading in a Regulated Environment (CCEAR – Contrato de Comercialização de Energia no Ambiente Regulado) from hydropower source will be by the amount of energy, with a term of 30 years and CCEAR from heat source will be by energy availability, with a term of 25 years.
The announcement of this auction brings some new features like improved assessment of tax compliance Investment Funds – FIP [Fundos de Investimentos em Participações]- appearing on the condition ofcontroller, improving the management of guarantees faithful performance, including estimates of the progressive implementation of the performance bond in case of delay of intermediate milestones schedule of implementation of the plant, among others.
The result of the analysis of qualification documents will be released on 10/22/13, the award on 11/21/13 and the signing of the contracts on 3/25/14. The notice and documents related to the auction can be seen here. (PG/JS)
