Fonte: ANEELThe Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) held today (8/23), at the headquarters of the Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization (CCEE – Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica), in São Paulo (SP), the Energy Auction Reserve (LER no. 05/2013 ) for procurement of electricity generated by wind power. 6,755 lots of 118 million megawatt (MW) were traded at an average price of R $ 110.51 MWh (Brazilian reais per megawatt hour). This value represents a discount of 5.55% over the ceiling price set in edict of R$ 117.00 MWh. The 66 winning projects will be installed in Bahia (28), Ceará (6), Pernambuco (7), Piauí (14), Rio Grande do Norte (7) and Rio Grande do Sul (4).
The lowest average selling price was recorded in the state of Bahia, with R$ 107.04 MWh, and the highest average price in Pernambuco, with R$ 116.00 MWh. The auction results are available on the websiteof the Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization (CCEE – Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica).
The sales and purchase contracts will be valid for 20 years, starting September 1, 2015. Under the new rules, there will be only 10% probability of the park producing less energy than the amount sold in the auction and, moreover, the hiring of the parks will be conditioned to ensuring connection with the transmission network.
The reserve auctions serve to enhance the physical security of the system and can be performed with any advance. These auctions are also intended to reduce the risk of imbalance between supply and demand of electricity. The auction notice is available on the ANEEL website.
