The live session to discuss the proposed tariff revision of Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia will be next Thursday (9/12), at 2:30 p.m., in Manaus (AM). The session will be chaired by the director of the Agency, André Pepitone da Nóbrega and will take place in the Auditorium Gilberto Azevedo Mendes at the Federation of Industries of the State of Amazonas (Avenida Joaquim Nabucco, 1919 Centro). The registration of the participants will start  at 2:00 p.m. (local time).
The hearing will also discuss the quality of service and limits of the continuity indicators DEC and FEC of the sets for Amazonas Energia stipulated for the period 2014-2017. The distributor serves approximately 740,000 consumer units located in the state of Amazonas. Society participation is essential in the regulatory process of the Agency both in regard to rate and to the quality of services provided.
The values submitted to the hearing by ANEEL consist of a preliminary proposal for reduction of 0.37% on the residential consumers’ bill (B1) of Amazonas Energia. For industries, the proposal is an average reduction of 4.46%. The final rates will only be established when the matter is decided by the Agency’s Board in an Extraordinary Public Meeting. The new tariffs should be applied starting November 1.
The tariff review is foreseen in the concession contracts and aims to get the balance of rates based on the remuneration of the investments of companies focused on the provision of distribution services and expense coverage effectively recognized by ANEEL.
At the public hearing, the agency hears society and receives contributions from industry players and stakeholders in the process.
