Auction that will connect UHE Belo Monte to the Southeast region will be held in February 2014

Fonte: ANEEL  The Board of the National Electricity Agency (ANEEL) approved today (12/19) Auction No. 11/2013 for hiring public service electricity transmission in the states of Pará, Minas Gerais, Goiás and Tocantins. The venture includes the direct current link that will connect the hydroelectric plant of Belo Monte to the Southeast region (check the description below). The notice will be published in the Official Gazette of 12/27 to comply with the determination by the Union’s accounting Court, that the publication was made ​​only when there was the final weighted average cost of capital (WACC) by ANEEL. The WACC, fixed at 6.63% per annum by the Agency takes into account the relationship between risk and return on investment.

  According to the systematic, in the first stage of the contest, the single lot will be bid, which consists of lots A and B. If there is no proposal for the single lot, there will be an auction of separate lots. Thus, contracts shall be awarded only if there is a winner for both lots. The event will be held on 02/07/2014, from 10:00 a.m., at the headquarters of Bovespa, in São Paulo.

  The one that presents the lowest proposal for an *Annual Revenue (RAP), regarding the service to be received from the commercial operation, will be the winner. For the single lot, the RAP was R$ 701 million and for the lots separately, the value was set at R$ 370.6 million (Lot A) and R$ 327.4 million (lot B). The revenue will be received for a period of 30 years, with the possibility of extension at the Grantor’s discretion.

  Facilities shall come into operation within 44-46 months after the signing of contracts with the creation of 15,476 direct jobs. The planned investments are around R$ 5 billion.

   Public audience No. 114/2013, which discussed the notice, was open from 10/23 to 11/22/2013 and received 103 contributions.
