The ceremony for signing the concession contracts for ten new transmission lines and three substations, previously scheduled for next Thursday (5/31), has been postponed to June 11, at 2PM. General director for the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel), Jerson Kelman, and the representatives of the winning companies at the auction held by Aneel last December will sign the contracts at the Agency’s headquarters in Brasília. The postponement occurred to be more compatible with commitments by the involved parties.

The concessions were bought at the auction by Spanish companies Isolux Ingeniería S/A (lot A) and Abengoa S/A (lots B and C and E); and the Brazilian Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco (Chesf – lots D and F).

Altogether, the new lines will have approximately 1014 kilometers (km) in extension and will cross nine states: Bahia, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. Projected investment for the ventures is R$ 795 million, with commercial operations forecast to start up in 18 to 22 months.
