The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) held today (04/25), in São Paulo, another step of the public hearing that handles the proposal of updating and perfecting of Resolution nº 456/2000, with the carrying out of the live public session conducted by Aneel director Romeu Donizete Rufino. The resolution establishes the general conditions of energy supply and rules the relations between the consumers and distributors.
189 people participated in the meeting, among them 33 as exhibiters. Among those present were individual consumers; representative of the Public Ministry; from consumer defense organizations such as Procon, PROTESTE and Idec; from the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB); from industry unions; from electricity distributors and resident associations.
The present body hearing has as a purpose to gather live contributions from consumers, from civil society institutions, from companies and from class associations, besides all other interested in the proposal. The regulation has been in public hearing since this past February 1st. The purpose is to perfect the relationship between the responsible agents for the public service rendering of electricity and their consumers.
The reduction of non-technical losses, breach, the quality of commercial service, service posts and minimization of operational costs are some themes of the regulation which are in analysis. See the table below for some changes that are being proposed:
