The Special Commission for Bidding of the Brazilian Electric Power Agency (Aneel) published today (May 14), through Relevant Notification nº 4, the list of companies that have provided guarantees to Jirau Hydroelectric Power Plant auction. The two participants (Consórcio Jirau Energia and Consórcio Energia Sustentável do Brasil – CESB) have made the deposit and have taken their passwords for the auction system access. For them, the guarantees correspond to 1% of the investment amount. These parameters are defined on page 15 of the invitation to bid.

Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S/A (1%);
Andrade Gutierrez Participações S/A (12.4%);

Fundo de Investimentos e Participações Amazônia Energia (FIP – composed of Banif and Santander Banks) (20%).

Power Distribution Companies – 31 power distribution concessionaires, purchasers at the auction, have provided their guarantees and are qualified to purchase power from Jirau Hydroelectric Power Plant auction. See the complete list here.
Auction Training – On Thursday (May 15), the two participants will be trained on the auction system and will participate in a simulation with fictitious data, in order to be prepared to make the auction call.
Auction – The auction will be promoted by Aneel and the Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica (CCEE) will be in charge of the auction operationalization, under Aneel’s delegation. The guidelines approved by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) are presented on decree nº 36/2008.
