The proposal with the preliminary index of the second periodic tariff review for the Companhia de Energia Elétrica do Estado do Tocantins (Celtins) will be presented tomorrow (05/06), in a public hearing promoted by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) in Palmas, Tocantins. The meeting will be lead by Aneel director Joísa Campanher Dutra.

The hearing will be open at 8 a.m. in the Hernandes Uchoa Lima auditorium, at the Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB), located at 201 norte, conjunto 2, lote 1/2, downtown. The purpose is to collect contributions from consumers and representatives from private and public institutions, from consumer defense organs, from resident organizations and other civil society segments for the leaser’s review process.

Aneel’s proposal for the distributor Celtins foresees an average reduction of – 7.89% (negative) for the company’s tariffs, which supplies electricity for 378,380 consumer units in 139 municipal districts in the state of Tocantins.

The definite tariff correction index will go into effect on July 4th, 2008.
