Today (6/4), starting at 5:00pm in Boa Vista (RR), the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) will hold a public hearing to listen to consumers about the quality of services being provided by the Boa Vista Energia distributor. The objective of the meeting is to gather contributions to subsidize the company’s periodic inspection work, projected for this year. The concessionaire services 72.6 thousand consumers in the capital of Roraima.
The hearing will be presided over by the assistant to the Superintendence of Electricity Service Inspections, José Thomé Assad Júnior, and it will be the tenth one held by Aneel this year. The public hearing offers consumers direct access to the Agency and the opportunity to contribute towards the inspection processes for the concessionaire’s electric energy supply and service quality.
Besides Boa Vista’s public hearing, Aneel and the participating state agencies shall promote 29 live public hearings this year about the services provided by the distribution companies. Thus far, meetings have been held in the following distributor concession areas: Celg (Goiás), CEA (Amapá), Saelpa (Paraíba), RGE (Rio Grande do Sul), Celtins (Tocantins), Elektro (São Paulo), Ceron (Rondônia), CEEE (Rio Grande do Sul) and Cosern (Rio Grande do Norte). Consultations on the inspection of services provided by the distributors began in 2004.
