The Índice Aneel de Satisfação do Consumidor (Iasc – Aneel Customer Satisfaction Index) Brasil of 2007 reached 65.39 on a scale of 0 to 100 as a result of the survey which measures the consumers perception as to the performance of the 64 distributors which perform in the country. This was the highest grade reached by Iasc since its beginning, in 2000.
The Iasc 2007 result shows that the services rendered by the distributors are in the range considered “good” and that the consumers are more satisfied with theses companies’ services.
The survey was disclosed today (06/11) by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) during the award ceremony for the best evaluated distributors in nine categories, which had the presence of Mines and Energy Minister, Edison Lobão, besides directors from the Agency. The index of 65.39 points an average of the results raised among the interviewed consumers which varies from the largest pointing, of 82.50, to the smallest, of 42.75.
Awarding – Aneel has done the survey which measures the Iasc since 2000, when it reached 62.81. The following year (2001), it was 63.23 and in 2002, 64.51. In 2003, the Iasc was 63.63, in 2004, 58.58, in 2005, it was 61.38 and in 2006, the grade was 60.49. Since 2002, the Agency has given awards to the companies with the best performance.
Purposes – As a quality evaluation instrument, Iasc supplies subsidies for distribution leasers to perfect their service rendering. The index also helps Aneel in inspections activities and in the perfecting of the regulation process.
Between January and February of this year, the company Logos Propaganda Ltda., responsible for carrying out the survey, heard 19,520 residential consumers in 473 Brazilian municipal districts about the performance of the services rendered by the distribution leasers in their respective performance areas. The statistical sample was proportional to the population served in each concession area. For the companies with up to 30 thousand consumer units, 200 questionnaires were applied; for those with number between 30 thousand and 400 thousand consumers, 250; between 400 thousand and 1 million consumer units, 320 and over 1 million, 450 questionnaires.
