The investors interested in participating in the new energy auction A-5, predicted for August 28th, can have access to the updated version of the viability study of the hydroelectric utilization Baixo Iguaçu, in Paraná, which is available in the physical means at the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) head office, in Brasília. Copies of documents on CD can be requested at the Aneel Documentation Center (Cedoc) at the phone (61) 2192-8668.

The updating of the viability study is a consequence of the adjustments established in the environmental process of the future mill. With a projected installed power of 350 megawatts (MW), the Baixo Iguaçu hydroelectric use is one of the three entrepreneurships included in the auction, which is going to negotiated electricity commercialization contracts with supply starting in 2013. The other two entrepreneurships are Cambuci (50 MW) and Barra do Pomba (80 MW), both in Rio de Janeiro.

Besides the documentation related to Baixo Iguaçu, other viability studies of hydroelectric utilization already approved by Aneel can be requested by phone from the Agency. To obtain copies it is necessary to send to the Agency’s Documentation Center blank CDs in substitution for the recorded media with the requested study.
