Aneel publishes Important Reports with information on the reserve, A-3 and Jirau auctions

Fonte: ANEELAneel (Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency)’s Special Auction Commission (SAC) disclosed today (07/29) the Important Report no. 6 which changes to August the 5th the date for subscription and delivery of participation guarantees in the reserve auction, which will be exclusively for biomass this year. The locale is at the Transamérica Flat International Plaza hotel, placed on Rua Alameda Santos, nº 981, Cerqueira César district, São Paulo. The initial date should be on this Friday (08/01).

On the 25th, the SAC disclosed the relation of 89 generation undertakings, technically qualified by the Energy Research Company (ERC), which are to deposit their guarantees. Such relation includes plants located in the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Piauí, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso and Alagoas. See here. 

The reserve auction is due to the next August the 14th, when reserve energy by availability contracts are going to be negotiated via internet. The contracts will have a 15-year validity and should begin in 2009 and 2010.

A-3 – The Important Report no. 2, also disclosed today (07/29) by the SAC, informs the place for subscription and participation guarantee deposits for the 6th new energy auction, named A-3.

On August the 6th, at 10:00 a.m., the qualified undertakers will also have to take the guarantee to the Transamérica Flat International Plaza hotel. The qualified plants relation is going to be published next Monday (08/04).

Due to August the 19th, the auction will comprise the negotiation of energy commercialization contracts. The energy supply should begin in January, 2011. The initial price ceiling established by the MME and included in the public note will be R$150 per megawatt-hour (MWh).

Jirau The SAC has also disclosed, on the Agency’s website, the Dispatch no. 2.758, of July the 25, 2008, regarding the documentation of the Specific Purpose Society (SPS) final composition constituted by the Brazilian Sustainable Energy Consortium. In the dispatch, the Commission informs that the documentation is appropriate to the conditions established in the public note. Aneel will direct the whole Jirau plant auction process to the Ministry of Mines and Energy this week. According to the schedule, following the presentation of the documents in the last 25th, the Consortium has 15 days – period which will be over on August the 8th – to deposit R$650 million regarding the compliance guarantee.
