Public announcement for Madeira transmission lines will be republished with corrections

Fonte: ANEELThe Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency’s (Aneel) collegiate Board of Directors approved the republication of the public notice today (9/23) for the auction for transmission installations that shall integrate the Madeira River Hydroelectric Complex in Rondônia to the National Interconnected System (SIN). The new versions of the document include punctual corrections in proposal guarantee values and adjustments in documentation regarding the technical capacity of participating companies. The changes in the public announcement that refer to the guarantees will only be applied to lots D of the Direct Current (DC) technological option and B of the Hybrid option (HB – Direct and Alternating Current).

The auction is scheduled for 10am next October 31 at the Rio de Janeiro Stock Exchange in a public session conducted by the Bovespa BM&F. According to tender rules, the auction participants can consider the adoption of one or the other technology in their proposals. Here  is a list of the lots to be auctioned on which it is possible to bid on both technologies. However, only one of the technological options will be the winner, defined by the sum of lower values proposed for each of the lots of alternatives DC and HB.

Rectifications in the public announcement shall not compromise the tender timetable previously established by Aneel. Some of the initial dates for the process shall be altered, but the calendar for the main events will be maintained. See the new timetable here.

Registration and presentation of guarantees, for example, shall be made from 9am to 2pm on October 29 at the Brazilian Settlement and Custody Company (CBLC) in São Paulo. The presentation of the winners’ qualification documents shall be made on November 10 and the auction result will be ratified on December 17. The concession contract signing date will be defined in a timely manner.

Connection with the SIN– The Madeira transmission installations shall be divided into seven lots with the transmission lines and substations projected in Federal Government planning. The approximate extension of the interconnection shall be 2375 kilometers (km) to connect to the National Interconnected System. The projection for commercial start-up of these ventures is 36 to 50 months after signing the concession contracts. Estimated investment for all lots, made by the Energy Research Company (EPE), is R$ 7.2 billion.
