Readjustment authorized by Aneel may not be applied in Amapá taxes

Fonte: ANEELThe college of directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) approved today the annual tax readjustment of the distributor Companhia de Eletricidade do Amapá (CEA). The new tax should be put in force as from the next November 30 (Sunday). CEA will not apply the correction because it is in default regarding the payment of several electric sector burdens.

The readjustment impediment due to default is established in the article 10 of the Law no. 8.631/93, which deals with the fixation of the tax levels for the electricity public service. That way, the concessionaire may only apply the average approved index of 40.56% after complying with their sector obligations. Below are the indexes by consumption class:
