After analysis, the final definite results go into effect to substitute the temporary ones
With the objective of giving greater transparency to the actions by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel), the Economic Regulation Superintendent (Superintendência de Regulação Econômica – SRE) opened a Public Consult process to present the proposal of the definite Periodic Tariff Review (Revisão Tarifária Periódica – RTP) related to the second cycle of the tariff review of 10 electricity distributors. The indexes, disclosed in 2007 and 2008, were published with temporary results until the approval of the final version of the methodology through Normative Resolution nº 338/2008, on November 25 of last year.
The Public Consult is one more opportunity for agents, associations and consumers to know and contribute with suggestions and perfecting to the indexes presented.
With the application of the new methodology there will be the alteration of the tariff impact on the distribution companies’ consumers’ electricity bills. The difference between the temporary result and the definite result will be considered in the next readjustment of each distribution leaser.
The proposals of the new Tariff Repositioning Indexes of ten distribution companies are already available at the Agency’s electronic address (www.aneel.gov.br) to be consulted.
