The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) approved yesterday (10/27) the annual tariff adjustment of Companhia Energética de Roraima (Cerrado). The new tariffs come into force on November 1st for about 25 thousand consumer units within Roraima.
The average effect of the primary adjustment is -10.89% (negative). To calculate this index, Aneel used as a reference an estimate for inflation in the period. As the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) announces the IGP-M only 29 days of each month, the Agency will publish a Technical Note complementing the final indexes.
The tariff readjustment is established in the distributors’ concession contracts. It is calculated based upon the variation of the company’s costs regarding operations (manageable costs), on which the IGP-M ins focused, and items such as the purchase of power, power transport burdens (transmission and distribution) and burdens of the electricity sector in the last 12 months. It also includes the projection of expenses with the necessary power to serve the distributor’s market in the following 12 months.
