The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) approved on Tuesday (the 10th) the announcement for Reserve Energy Contract auction, the first exclusively for energy produced by wind power. The event is scheduled for December 14th, with an initial supply from July 1st, 2012, in the form of energy and contracts lasting 20 years. The initial maximum price for submission of bids will be R$ 189/MWh. The announcement will be available tomorrow (11/11) on the Aneel website, at Space Entrepreneur, ‘Notice of Generation’.

The auction will follow the model of phase inversion, with later qualification for the winning plants. Participants must deposit guarantee amounting to 1% of the investment for the projects without the grant, or the amount of R$ 20 thousand per lot for developments that already have granted. The brokers should conclude the Energy Reserve Contract (CER) with the Energy Trade Chamber (CCEE).

For this auction, it was defined a set of alternative TUST tariff (Tariff for Use of Transmission System) that can vary if the winning bidders participate in the public hearing for the definition of ICGs (collection substations of transmission system).
