Companies in Brazil and Spain are able to participate in the auction of 11 concessions of transmission lines (LT) and eight substations (SE) that the Brazilian Energy Agency (Aneel) holds tomorrow (11/27) at 10am, at the Rio de Janeiro stock market, in public session conducted by BM&FBovespa.  The lots offered will be contested by 14 companies, 13 national and a Spanish one, which compete individually or grouped in a consortium.

The deadline to confirm the right to contest the awards ended yesterday (11/25), with the delivery of documents for registration and deposit of guarantees required in the notice. In the auction, there will be an inversion of phases, i.e. the enabling legal, technical, economic/financial and tax enabling will happen after the completion of a public meeting and only for winning companies. According to the schedule of the notice, the delivery of the post-qualification documents of winners will take place on December 4^th.

The bidding of concessions in the 11 new transmission lines and 8 substations is divided into eight lots.  Lines and substations will be installed in Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso and Minas Gerais. The Construction is expected to be completed within 15 to 24 months upon the signing of concession agreements aimed at the installation, operation and maintenance of projects.  The planned investments are R$ 1.3 billion, generating 6.8 thousand direct jobs.  The new lines will enhance the transmission capacity of the National Interconnected System (SIN).

By the standards of the auction, the winners will be those with the lowest tariff, i.e. the lowest Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP) for the provision of transmission service.  The discount between the annual income allowed for in the bid documents and bids in the auction should be reflected in the final calculation of tariffs paid by consumers.
