The Brazilian Energy Agency (Aneel) fined R$3.9 million concessionaire Light for failure to meet targets of DEC (Equivalent Length of Interruption per Consuming Unit) and FEC (Frequency of Interruption per Consuming Unit) quality indicators related to 2008.  The fine was issued on Monday (11/30) and the deadline for appeal is 10 days.

Because of the new cases registered in the system of Light, Aneel reinforced, last Monday (11/30), the team that determines the causes of the blackouts that hit the concession area of the company.  The group will examine the conditions of the equipment of underground networks of neighborhoods affected by the outages.  The inspection department will visit the  site  to identify the causes of flaws in the analysis and management reports of last maintenances. The agency estimates that within a maximum of ten days the report will be complete.

If the emergency inspection department finds flaws in planning, maintenance and/or operation the company will be subject to a fine of up to 1% of its income, according to procedures established by Resolution No.  63/2004.
