The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) and the State of Ceará present tomorrow at 3:30PM in Fortaleza, the cooperation agreement signed with the Agency Regulatory of Public Services Delegated from the State of Ceará (ARCE). The ceremony will be held at the Palácio de Iracema in the presence of the governor Cid Ferreira Gomes, Director-General of ANEEL, Nelson Hübner and Chairman of the Board of ARCE, Marisa Maria Ximenes. Under the agreement, Aneel will delegate to the agency of Ceará oversight activities of the electricity services, magistracy and mediation of conflicts between agents and consumers.
The decentralization of the activities of Aneel aims to improve the provision of electricity services, bringing consumers the actions of regulation. The agreement concluded between the two agencies will be valid for five years and may be extended.
ANEEL already has cooperation agreements with 11 other agencies in the states of São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Norte, Pará, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Goiás and Paraiba.
