The National Energy Agency (Aneel) approved on Tuesday (9) the announcement of the first auction of contracting electricity in isolated systems. The event, which will negotiate energy generated from biomass sources, will be held on April 9th this year, in Manaus (AM).
They may be technically qualified by the Energy Research Company (EPE) to participate in the auction, developments of electric power generation by biomass power, authorized until July 30th, 2009, and new generation projects from this source, with subsequent granting of permission .
The start of the energy contracts supply will be in 2011, 2012 or 2013. The top price set by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) ranges from R$149.00/MWh (reais per megawatt-hour) to R$156,00/MWh.
There will be 545 products in 182 locations divided into seven distributors of the Isolated Systems. They are: Amazonas Energia (AM), Boa Vista Energia (RR), Celpa (PA), Cemat (MT), Ceron (RO), CERR (RR) and Eletroacre (AC).
The news of this auction is in the energy procurement phase. The auction will be conducted in two phases, at a presential session, with bids in a sealed envelope and eventually speakerphone. The nomenclature used for the contract in the isolated system will be Contracts for Sale of Energy in Isolated Systems (CCES). This contract will last 15 years and instead of being recorded in the Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE), it will be approved by ANEEL.
