The Special Bidding Commission (CEL) of the National Agency of Electrical Energy (Aneel) announced this afternoon (13/04) the Relevant Communiqué nº 2, postponing the deadline for registration 14 (Wednesday) to April 16 (Friday) 18h. Thus, the registration periods and guarantees of supply again are reconciled, because on Tuesday morning the date to the guarantees of supply had been extended, according to Relevant Communiqué Nº. 1.

The new Announcement is on the Aneel’s website (www.aneel.gov.br), at Espaço do Empreendedor, Editais de Geração, Leilão nº. 06/2009. The date for the auction Simulation and Training has also been updated and the event is rescheduled for Saturday, April 17. The draw of the rooms, the support software installation as well as scanning and the seal of the rooms to be used by proponents were anticipated in a day and now happen on Sunday (18/04). The remaining auction dates are maintained, as updating the estimated timeline of events, available on the same website.

The UHE Belo Monte will distribute 11,233.1 megawatts of installed capability, with an average of 4,571 MW (MWmed) ensured the physical security, which is the maximum amount of energy and power that could be used as proof for energy service or marketing contracts. The two powerhouses (main and supplementary) are located in Vitória do Xingu (PA). The energy generation is expected to start in February 2015, when it should begin the operations of the supplementary’s powerhouse first machine. Completion is scheduled for 2019, with the full operation of all generating units. The total investment, evaluated by the Energy Research Company (EPE) for construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Plant has been set for $ 19 billion.
