Auction contracting energy extends generation park to average 327 MW.

Fonte: ANEELThe first auction of energy sale exclusively to water source, promoted on Friday (30), by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), ended with the hiring of average 327 MW, at an average selling price of BRL 99.48 MWh. The total value of contracts reached BRL 8.5 billion.

The seven enterprises that sold at the auction will sign contracts for the purchase and sale of energy that will last 30 years, valid as from January 1st, 2015. In the case of the HPPs of Garibaldi, Colíder and Ferreira Gomes, the winners will also receive a grant of concession for the use of public property intended for the independent production of energy.

Aneel director Edvaldo Santana pointed out the fact that the result secures lower rates to final consumers. The event was held in São Paulo, at the Board of Electric Energy Trading, through the Internet.  

Winning Hydroelectric Power Plants 

  -Triunfo Participações e Investimentos was the winner of the energy auction of HPP Garibaldi, with the bid price of BRL 107.98 per megawatt-hour (MWh), representing a discount of 18.8% over the initial price of BRL 133 per MWh. The plant will be located on the Canoas river, in the cities of Cerro Negro and Abdon Batista, in Santa Catarina, with at least 177.9 MW of installed power. The expected value of the investment is BRL 719.3 million.

– The winner of the energy auction of HPP Gomes Ferreira, however, was Alupar with final bid price of BRL 69.78, a discount of 15.9% over the initial price of BRL 83 per MW/h. The HPP with installed capacity of at least 252 MW will be installed in the Araguari river, in the cities of Araguari and Ferreira Gomes, Amapá.The project cost is estimated at BRL 810.7 million.

– Copel finished off the energy of HPP Colíder with the bid value of BRL 103.40 per MW/h, a discount of 10.9% over the top price of BRL 116 MW/h. The plant will be located in the Teles Pires river, in the cities of Nova Canaã do Norte, Colíder and Itaúba, in Mato Grosso, with minimum installed capacity of 300MW.  The estimated investment is BRL 1.2 billion.
