ANEEL holds tenure ceremony of directors.

André Pepitone da Nóbrega takes over José Guilherme Senna’s position and Romeu Rufino is reappointed to the post

Civil engineer André Pepitone da Nóbrega took office on Monday (16) as director of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL). At the same ceremony, held in late afternoon, director Romeu Rufino Donizete was reappointed to the post. The ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Márcio Zimmermann, and had the presence of the Director General of ANEEL, Nelson Hübner, directors Edvaldo Alves Santana and Julião Coelho and former director José Guilherme Senna.

The Minister of Mines and Energy, Márcio Zimmermann, welcomed the directors of the Agency and stressed that ANEEL is now responsible for a good image that the Brazilian energy sector has created abroad.

In his speech, André Pepitone highlighted the fact that he was the first server to effectively occupy the position of director of ANEEL and stated that the Agency’s goal is to reduce information asymmetry in the power sector to ensure a balance between the agents. Romeu Rufino, in turn, said in his speech that his reappointment is a great challenge and it brings, to the Agency collegiate, experience of over 27 years in the industry.

Nelson Hübner welcomed André Pepitone and thanked José Guilherme Senna for services rendered to the Agency. The Director-General of ANEEL emphasized that the Agency has developed a way to get a strong energy sector balanced between agents.

André Pepitone da Nóbrega is a civil engineer specialized in geotechnical engineering. He is in the Agency since 2000, where he worked in the areas of concessions and commitments and economic studies of the generation market. Since 2005, he occupied the effective position of Specialist in regulation. Romeu Rufino holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree, with postgraduate studies in management accounting by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). He has worked as an auditor for five years and, from March 1998 to August 2006, he was Superintendent of Economic and Financial Audit of ANEEL. Check here for more information about the curricula.

The Board of ANEEL is constituted by a director-general and four directors, all nominated and appointed by the President after approval by the FederalSenate.
