Aneel launches a charter of service to the citizen

Fonte: ANEEL The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) launched yesterday (02/08) the Charter of ANEEL Services to the Citizens, with information on services available and how to access and run them, along with a brief explanation about the operation of the institution. The disclosure of the letter is provided by Decree No. 6.932/2009. The event was broadcast live over the Internet (www.aneel.gov.br).

With the publication, ANEEL tries to promote the channels with access to the agency in order to encourage the participation of society and ensure the improvement of their performance. The Director-General of ANEEL stressed that the document will contribute to improving the approximation of the citizen to the Agency in facilitating the understanding of regulation and the actions taken by the municipality. "This is just the first version of the Charter, which will undergo constant improvements in order to fulfill its objective", said Huebner.

The director of the Department of Consumer Protection and the Ministry of Justice, Juliana Pereira, emphasized the importance of service to provide electric power, present in almost all Brazilian households. She said this initiative allows citizens to increase their access to the Agency and to give voice to the consumer. "There are different ways to meet a legal determination, but ANEEL’s initiative shows their intention to bring the citizen and consumer closer to the agency," he said.

For the director of the Department of Management Programs at the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management (PBM), Bruno Palvarini, also present at the event, the launch of the Charter will meet the priorities of the folder. "The charter is an institution's interface with the citizen, allowing the institution to be known and collected by society," said Palvarini.

For ANEEL director Andrew Pepitone, the Charter "is a way to get closer to society, so they can understand our standards and our work. The Charter extends and strengthens customer relationships, providing information and how to access all and facilitating the daily lives of those in demand, with less bureaucracy and more efficiency," Pepitone said. For director Julião Coelho, the initiative of the letter coincides with the performance by ANEEL, which since the beginning of its operation prioritizes society participation through public hearings and consultations and, since 2004, public meetings of the board. "The Charter is a milestone for the consumer to participate more in the decision making process of the Agency," he says.

The ceremony was also attended by the representative of the councils of power consumers, Manuel Neto, the first to receive from the hands of the director-general, Nelson Hübner, a copy of the Charter.

The Charter of ANEEL Services to the Citizens lists the services offered in accordance with the public: citizens, agents and other institutions. In addition, information about the creation of ANEEL, meetings, public hearings and consultations sponsored by the agency and the functioning of the Ombudsman agency are available at the end of the issue. The Charter can be found on the Agency’s website (www.aneel.gov.br), in the homepage.
